Headed up to the mountains to visit with Paul, my brother, for his birthday on a rainy Saturday. We packed our umbrellas, clipped the leash on the dog, and piled into the car. A beam of sunshine-illuminated rain dumped right into the canyon, right over where we were supposed to camp. Good thing we would go home to warm beds that night! ... except we didn't.
