Halloween Adventures
We brought Charmander and the Flash to their favorite place for Halloween festivities. We ate mummy dogs and macaroni & cheese (kids' choice). They carved mini pumpkins this year because we waited too long before choosing big pumpkins. By then, everyone was sold out out big pumpkins. The little spirited guys were actually great fun on our table.
Anika's little friend look like he's winking.
We visited the incredible displays in Nevada City. Trick-or-treating is only part of the reason to visit these neighborhoods. The Outside Inn's spooky garden walk ends with a Giant Minion. And a haunted house upped the display again by adding a sort-of spooky maze to the the yard, My kids never go into the haunted house (too scary).
Then onto more trick or treating. While us adults marveled at all the work that goes into getting Nevada City looking like such a Halloween wonderland. Thank you so much to all of the residents! We heard one family handing out 1600 pieces of candy before 8pm. Whoa!
We sure appreciate all of the effort.
One of my favorites is the home where they project old scary movies onto the side of the house. Nothing like scary movie scenes while standing in tangled spiderwebs.
Clouds obscured the stars, but thankfully rain didn't fall until we were pretty much done anyway. We walked back to the car in a gentle misting of raindrops. Which became full rain as we drove home. Hurrah for another epic and magical Halloween night!
Happy Halloween!
