Looking Forward to Wizard World Comic-Con

Anika is busy getting her cosplay plans together. And we’re reminiscing about our favorite Wizard World moments as the next Sacramento Comic-Con is coming soon. They’re moving to a new venue this year at Cal-Expo. Luckily our favorite things will easily travel (and the new venue will be great). In no particular order, we’re looking forward to the adventures listed here.

We look forward to making new friends. From Deadpool to Kato Kaelin, we enjoy connecting with everyone.

Good times with Kato!

“Seeing the cool things that people come up with,” my kids said. From the cosplay to the arts, the creativity at Wizard World inspires us, like the chalk mural by the Chalk Twins. And epic cosplay.

We’re looking forward to the creative vendors and merchandise. We came home with original artwork, pins, and fan memorabilia. We’ve been saving up for this year!

It’s a perfect time of year for The Pumpkin Geek!

The kids say, “Seeing people you know and hearing stories.” Which means meeting people they know from films, shows, and video games. Then going to panels and hearing about the stories behind the stories. From unexpected moments, like karaoke with Nicholas Brenden to discussions like Jon Heder sharing behind-the-scenes trivia in Napoleon Dynamite, to realizing the the Buffy actors are walking down the stairs ahead of you, we love how we get to see another side of our favorite fandoms. Last year, a pleasant surprise was chatting with voice actors to hear about their contributions to favorite games, like Skylander, and shows, like Miraculous Ladybug. We enjoyed chatting with Lex Lang about his voice talents.

Gaming a technology is a big inspiration in our family as well. Last year, we got to try VR technology, which was surprisingly realistic. At first, we wondered why they needed us to sit down, but that was soon obvious when the roller coaster on the screen dipped over the first hill.

Speaking of looking forward to Wizard World, Anika and I need to go to the craft store. Her cosplay for this year is coming together. I look forward to sharing it with you! And meeting more of her fans at Wizard World :)
