Gold Country Dance Showcase

Dance is poetry is motion. Documenting performances is a treat. This year saw the first Gold Country Dance Showcase. Which brought together many different dance companies to create a show that highlighted many different styles from all ages of dancers. We couldn’t possible pick a favorite, so we created numerous galleries (link at the end of the post).

Part of our heart’s work is to share memories that families wouldn’t be able to save on their own. In a dark theater, when dancers are leaping and moving quickly, we know that families will struggle to save memories on phones. That’s why we share so many images. Also because, my goodness, how gorgeous is it to see how dancers shine on stage?

Capturing motion inspires us. After all, movement doesn’t stand still. Yet photos show the height, the grace, the flow of fabric. We love that!

Another impression for us was the graceful strength of the dancers. These dances were stunning to watch as they managed lifts and leaps. I mean, how is this even possible?

We came home with way more photos than we had planned. Each dance was a new opportunity for images that called to us. So we complied a few favorites here, then put the rest into galleries so dancers and families can find them.
