Real Life in August
We splashed into August with the abandon of summer.
The great leap from hot afternoons into the cool deep. We find bliss underwater.
We find magic underwater.
After long weeks of waiting, my new underwater camera arrived. The old one cracked the battery door and water leaked inside. Olympus was fantastic about the situation and sent me a new Olympus TG-4.* Having the underwater camera away for awhile showed me how very much I adore underwater imagery.
Life is growing and changing. Ian's front teeth became fantastically wiggly. He delighted in making me squirm with showing me, every few minutes, "Look how wiggly it is now!"
Until he said, "Mom! Mom! Look!"
Then he said, "You need to take new photos, Mom. You need to say Hashtag New Smile!"

Evenings are cooling. Flowers are blooming and fading. The breezes hint at seasons of change.
We celebrated the last official day of summer vacation with a trip to the river. Even then, the water was too cold for most of us to swim.
First day of Second and Seventh Grade! We enjoyed how Facebook and Instagram featured a feed of sweet smiles and fresh new outfits. And then. These kids :)
Love my little wild things! I want them to remember the excitement of that first day.
Summer may be winding down, but important stuff lasts. Dear friends.
The adventure together :)
I enjoy sharing our August in a few choice images. Real life is the best!
