Open to Opportunity
Today. Sunshine-light even after working all day. This smile melts away my cloudy skies. After I showed how the fading sun caught in his eyes, Anika wanted a turn. My Brown Eyed Girl :) I recently thought how I need to scout locations. I noticed our mountain-ridge home went to blue twilight and skipped the golden hour. I wasn't sure how I would manage the quest, but then, here we are. Lovely golden light. The surprise? This fancy location was by my car, standing on the rail so the light caught the color just right. I got close so you wouldn't see the store signs in the background. Who knew?
Light shone buttery and golden in the The Safeway Parking Lot. Yep, a warm sunset that timed perfectly. I had my phone so I grabbed the chance.
Catch the light.
By the time we left the store, the light was cool gray-blue. A whisper of darkness in shadows. The moment lasted just that moment. I was so grateful for slowing down. Catching them. Here. Even in an awkward parking lot. Getting close, you can barely see the car or the shopping center behind them. Regardless, noticing the light, the smiles, the love...all that makes surprise-photos even more valuable to me. We spend plenty of time with cars and shopping centers. The light is a gift. That slowed down our chores. Helps us see each other. See the world. Shining.
Who knew?
Safeway parking lot is the next big photographic opportunity. We don't need a meadow. We can sit on the roof of a car. And enjoy the pretty light.
My unexpected opportunity :)
