Bishops Pumpkin Farm
Hello October! Last year we visited Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm. Where they noticed changes in different play areas. And became massively nostalgic about what charmed their younger years. Every visit includes a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch behind a tractor. Last year, though, Ian had an injured elbow that needed a sling.
I remembered two things as we cruised around. And the kids spent ages in the mock schoolhouse letting littler kids take turns as teacher. One, childhood goes fast, lightning fast. Like one minute they’re begging to ride the train because it’s a TRAIN. And the next they’re begging to ride the train because “it’s so SMALL now.” One minute they’re on the straw-covered mattresses to jump around and be wild. The next they’re remembering how it makes them so itchy and maybe reminiscing is actually better than actually jumping into the straw covered pit.
As we left, a blazing sunset covered the sky with magical light. Which was another reminder. Little adventures can make big memories.
