Damp Deer Creek Tribute Trail
One of my best friends visited with her family while storm clouds swept over the sky. We knew the kids needed an outdoor adventure while we didn't know how long we had before rain arrived. The Deer Creek Tribute Trail was a perfect adventure. I felt pretty good that day, and the trail ambles toward the suspension bridge. And the lightsaber was in the car so we took that along, too. Why not document a Jedi on the bridge?
We avoided the downpour, hurrah, returning to the cars just in time. Rain pattered on the branches above in the first wave of the storm. The bride gave us a fun destination. And we got to see Deer Creek with slick granite boulders. Low clouds hugged the canyon. Every time we go, I get to see the woods and creek with different light and seasonal colors. And the moss! Oh, the moss was delighted with wet, wet weather. The rocks and trees positively sang with happy green moss.
Overall the adventure was a fun way to share an adventure with out-of-town friends. We're so fortunate to have this beautiful trail so close to town. It reminded us of Endor. So of course we had to come home and take a photo with Chewbacca :)
Chatting about writing is the absolute best. Heidi R. Klng has many amazing books, including Where I Found You and the Spellspinner Series. She lit a fire in me to get back to fiction-writing and dust off a couple of manuscripts this year. Onward to new adventures :)
