At Last, Good News
I figured out photos, or at least embedding photos in a post with the new Wordpress update.
And here is more good news. Cast #4. And it is blue! According to my orthopedic surgeon, this is the first cast and the others were splints, so:
Casts and splints: 4 Time since injury: 3 weeks, 5 days Doctor visits: 5 Prognosis: Improved!
We visited the doctor for MRI results this morning. I was so nervous. Anika is getting used to these offices.
I felt like the opposite of Christmas, like my gifts could be midnight cemetery darkness. No big news, please, no big news, please.
And, for once, no big news! A bad sprain healing slowly. Thank goodness! He does think that I should see the specialist at the end of the month. He sees tendinitis in another area of the foot away from the ankle. So it might have been aggravated by the fall. It might be CMT progression. But it would be worth investigating further.
I can put weight on this cast. And it did feel like Christmas morning, after all, a happy Christmas morning. A gift, to see that I am closer to normal life again. No surgery, no uncertain outcomes. Just healing and physical therapy. And that is such a relief!
Tomorrow is the first day of school. I get to be teacher in a wheelchair. It's a great learning opportunity for all of us. I bet it will be fun.
And Ian gets to start at our school in the kindergarten readiness class, hurrah! Anika, she deserves a post of her own. I have another happy post about this past weekend, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. This teacher better go to sleep.
Wishing you good news today, too! :)
