Stories
Every day when I was six years old, a school bus dropped me off at the end of a mile long dirt road. Really. And between watching my brother kick his metal Star Wars lunchbox all of the way home and avoiding rattlesnakes, I told stories. Mostly of a horse that waited for me at the bus-stop and gave me a ride home.
I never found that magical horse but I did find a spectacular love of stories.
I earned an MFA in Creative Writing in 2008. Dirt, Lord of All Things Dark and Mysterious was my thesis project. I graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a BA in Creative Writing. My young adult novel, Legends of Home, was published by a small press when I was nineteen. My writing has received the Jack London Writing Award and recognition in the National Scholastic Writing Awards. I am a member of SCBWI. My stories and articles appear in diverse publications from Dreams and Nightmares to DogFancy magazine. I write scripts for children’s theater. I dedicated the past eight years to raising my two children. Now that they are older, I am excited to dive into the world of publishing and marketing stories again. I love writing. I also love revising and creating the best possible story.
I write fantastic fiction for young adults and accessible picture books for children and whimsical craft books for everyone. I love it all.
