It's Almost Fair Time!
We just submitted a bunch of art and Minecraft screenshots to the fair. Yes, this year the kids came up with Minecraft scenes, from Ian's Battle Arena to Anika's Pirate Queen Castle and Pirate Ship. It's the first year for the Minecraft category, so we look forward to seeing what everyone creates.
Meanwhile, we reminisce about fun times at the fair last year. What's our favorite thing? The rides? The animals? The treats on Treat Street?
It's hard to choose a favorite! The good news is that we don't have to choose.
The Nevada County Fair is such a tradition, and each time I see my kids enjoying their time at the fair, so many memories come back to me. From my own childhood visiting the animals, then teenage years on the Zipper. To returning as newlyweds. and then with babies and toddlers. And now, full circle, as my girl's a teen herself. What a special celebration of community.
If you can come along for the fun, wear good walking shoes that you don't mind getting dusty. Be prepared for adventure. And ready for hot days into cooler evenings. And a long line at the funnel cake stand after sundown.
